The Jesus You Know Is Too Small
John 1:1
The Jesus You Know Is Too Small
Open my eyes to see You as You truly are — not as I've imagined.
Remove every distraction right now, and let truth land. Amen.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
John 1:1
Most of us have a Jesus we're comfortable with — one who fits our schedule, doesn't ask too much, and agrees with most of our decisions. That Jesus doesn't exist. John 1:1 doesn't ease you in. He starts before time itself and says: before anything existed, Jesus already was.
The Greek word en — past continuous. He was already in existence when existence began. That is not a good man. That is not even a great prophet. That is God. And a constructed Jesus — managed from a distance — cannot actually transform your life.
"If Jesus is just a good man to you — He has no authority over your life. You're not following Him. You're referencing Him."
Acknowledge His authority out loud — in the room where you actually make your decisions.
Not a version I invented. You — the Word who was God, who is God.
Take Your rightful place in my life. Amen.
