Day Six · Identity
You Only Want Half of Him
Revelation 5:5–6
Opening Prayer
Lord, give me the courage to receive all of You — not just the parts that feel safe.
Where I've made You small to stay comfortable, expand my understanding. Amen.
Where I've made You small to stay comfortable, expand my understanding. Amen.
Encounter
In Revelation 5, John turns to see the Lion — and sees a Lamb. Slain. But standing. Same Jesus. Two natures. One person. And it hit me — we want one without the other. We want the Lamb's gentleness without the Lion's authority.
"Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah… And I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain."
Revelation 5:5–6
The church has built an entire aesthetic around the Lamb. Soft worship. Safe sermons. Gentle Jesus. There's nothing wrong with the Lamb — unless that's the only Jesus you know. Because the Lion is equally real. And the Lion is coming back — not to comfort but to reign.
Confrontation
"You want the Lamb to comfort you — but not the Lion to confront you. That's not faith. That's preference. And you will never grow beyond your preferences."
One Move · Within 24 Hours
Sit in silence for 5 minutes. Ask one question and actually wait for an answer:
"Where am I resisting Your correction?"
Closing Prayer
Jesus — Lion and Lamb — I don't get to choose which one I follow.
Correct me where I've been comfortable. Comfort me where I've been broken.
Be Lord over all of it. Amen.
Correct me where I've been comfortable. Comfort me where I've been broken.
Be Lord over all of it. Amen.
