Your God Is a Projection — Until You See Jesus

Opening Prayer
God, remove every false image I carry of You.
The one shaped by my wounds. The one shaped by my culture.
Show me who You actually are. Amen.
Encounter
Jesus is not part of God's message. He is the full, exact image of God in a body. When I saw that, I realized how many of my beliefs about God had nothing to do with Jesus. They were my assumptions. My wounds. My projections — handed back to God and called theology.

"He is the image of the invisible God."

Colossians 1:15

The Greek word is eikon — exact representation. Not a symbol. Not an approximation. If you want to know what God looks like — look at Jesus. The way He treated the woman caught in sin. The way He wept at Lazarus' tomb. The way He prayed for people who were crucifying Him. That is God.

Wherever your picture of God doesn't match Jesus — that's where projection has replaced revelation. And that's where healing needs to happen.

"If your view of God doesn't look like Jesus — it's not God. It's projection. And you've been praying to a picture you painted."
